The PowerMoves.NOLA Team

Meet the men and women who make the PowerMoves.NOLA initiative a reality.
PowerMoves.NOLA launched its first City Venture with PowerMoves@Detroit.

The wealth of talent, experience and innovation that comes with diversity is often lost because minority startups aren't afforded the access and capital necessary to grow their businesses and develop their ideas. PowerMoves.NOLA fills that gap by orchestrating connections of high-growth entrepreneurs of color to advisors, capital, and technical assistance.

PowerMoves.NOLA is an initiative of the New Orleans Startup Fund and sponsored by Chevron in partnership with ESSENCE Festival.

Through pitch competitions, boot camps, networking events and fellowship opportunities, PowerMoves.NOLA is designed to increase the number of venture-backed minority-founded companies locally and nationally.

"Beyond personal success, the founders I've met through PowerMoves are consistently oriented around being of service and go out of their way to support the growth of other founders in our PowerMoves network."

“When I saw Monseiur's product and met the team at PowerMoves.NOLA, I immediately fell in love with both and we ended up being the first institutional investors in their round.  PowerMoves.NOLA was pivotal in making that transaction come to fruition.”

“The more entrepreneurs we have working to solve problems the better off society will be. This is especially true for minority entrepreneurs that historically come from problem-riddled communities. The importance of PowerMoves can’t be overstated.”
